Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy provide training which combines Conduct Hazard Analysis and Issue Work Permits. Teaching how to systematically identify, assess, and control hazards while ensuring high-risks tasks are managed through formal permit systems. Practical training in hazard identification techniques, risk assessment processes, and the correct preparation, offering and monitoring of work permits in industries such as manufacturing, mining, and construction.
The skills and knowledge required to issue work permits. It covers an understanding of the permit system and the limitations of each permit, and making decisions regarding the need for and correct use of each permit. These combined units improve risk management capability, enahance workplace safety culture, reduced lighthouse of incidents, and increased confidence in supervising or undertaking controlled work activities. Permits are called ‘clearances’ by some organisations.
Theses unit of competencies apply to personnel who are required to communicate safety requirements, verify conditions before work begins, and maintain compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. Issue appropriate permits to work to persons conducting a variety of activities in workplace environments in which hazards exist or specific procedures need to be followed and monitored to protect the safety of personnel and the integrity of plant or process.
The unit of competencies apply to an individuals working alone or as part of a team or group and working in liaison with other shift team members and the control room operator, as appropriate.

Pre-requisites
* Please note the MSMWHS201 Conduct Hazard Analysis is a prerequisite to MSMPER300 Issue work permits
Duration of Course
8 hours
Course Delivery
Training is delivered Face to Face. All training handouts supplied.
PPE Required
Participants are to wear comfortable clothing and closed in shoes.
Assessment
Participants will complete a theory based assessment and a practical based assessment to determine their competence.
On successful completion of the issue work permits, participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and a wallet card stating;
- Participant Name
- Units of Competency Completed
- Date of Completion
- Statement of Attainment Number
Recognition of Prior Learning
All participants are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL. Please refer to the Student Handbook (located in resources) or phone 1300 356 686 for the procedure of how to apply.
USI
From 1st January 2015, it is a requirement when enrolling in a Nationally Recognised training course to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI). Certifications cannot be issued until the USI number has been provided and verified.
