Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy Pty Ltd provide Low Voltage rescue, CPR training and Apply Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes and Practices in the workplace for persons who are required to carry out rescue procedures from a live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus.
The CPR Unit and Apply Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes and Practices in the workplace Unit is pre-requisites for the Low Voltage unit.
Our course is Nationally Recognised and is in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
The low voltage rescue, CPR training and Apply Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes and Practices in the Workplace course is structured to ensure participants have the understanding of how to perform a rescue on a casualty if they have been using low voltage equipment and require CPR.
The course will cover the following areas;
- Assess the Incident Scene
- Conduct a Primary Assessment
- Rescue Principles
- Provide Resuscitation
- Maintain and Use Safety/Rescue Equipment
- Management of Injuries
- Electrical Safety Information
- Conduct DRSABCD
- Provide CPR on Adults and Children
- Recovery Position
- Handover to Medical Personnel
- Safe Use of a Defibrillator
- Skills and knowledge required to apply work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and codes of practices in the electrotechnology workplace.
- Applying safe working practices, following workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control
- It also includes electrotechnology worker responsibilities and application for health and safety, risk management and adherence to safety practices as part of electrotechnology work functions when preparing to enter a work area.

Duration of Course
6 hours
Course Delivery
Training is delivered Face to Face. All training handouts supplied.
PPE Required
Participants are to wear comfortable clothing and closed in shoes.
Assessment
Participants will complete a theory based assessment and a practical based assessment to determine their competence.
On successful completion of the low voltage rescue and CPR training course, participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and a wallet card stating;
- Participant Name
- Units of Competency Completed
- Date of Completion
- Statement of Attainment Number
Recognition of Prior Learning
All participants are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL. Please refer to the Student Handbook (located in resources) or phone 1300 356 686 for the procedure of how to apply.
USI
From 1st January 2015, it is a requirement when enrolling in a Nationally Recognised training course to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI). Certifications cannot be issued until the USI number has been provided and verified.
