Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy Pty Ltd provide confined space rescue training for persons who are required to enter and work in confined spaces, test for toxic gases, operate (wear) breathing apparatus, who perform CPR and standby duties and are part of a rescue team. Our course is Nationally Recognised and is in accordance with the Australian Standard 2865-2009 and relevant Codes of Practice.
The confined space rescue 3 day training course is structured to ensure participants have the understanding of hazards and the requirements needed to enter and work in a confined space. Participants will gain relevant skills in identifying the scope of work covered by relevant permits, ensuring that the right type of permit has been issued for the correct type of work. The gas detection unit is designed to teach participants how to use and read a gas monitor, and be familiar with what gases to test for. The breathing apparatus unit is designed to teach participants on how to operate SCBA in a safe and operational manner. Throughout the training, participants will be introduced to a number of hazards, including claustrophobia. The rescue unit is designed to teach participants on how to perform as part of a rescue team, your responsibilities as a standby person and perform CPR on a casualty.

Course Delivery
Training is delivered Face to Face. All training handouts supplied.
PPE Required
Participants are to provide their own workplace appropriate gloves. Participants are to wear comfortable clothing and closed in shoes.
Physical Requirement – a participant must be in good health and medically fit for work. If weight is over 136kg, we advise participant to bring a specialised harness with them to the training.
Assessment
Participants will complete a theory based assessment and a practical based assessment to determine their competence.
On successful completion of the confined space 3 day training course, participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and a wallet card stating;

Recognition of Prior Learning

USI
From 1st January 2015, it is a requirement when enrolling in a Nationally Recognised training course to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI). Certifications cannot be issued until the USI number has been provided and verified.

CPD POINTS – 48
CPD (Continuing professional development points) are available to those working in the Building industry.
Builders are required to earn 12 CPD points per year by completing activities that are relevant to CPD topic areas as prescribed by the NSW Department of Fair Trading.
Builders are required to show evidence they have completed the required PD each year in order to renew their license or builders certificate.
We provide a statement of attendance to participants who successfully complete training courses with us upon request, the statement can then be submitted to the NSW Department of Fair Trading as evidence of completed CPD activity.
If participants earn more than 12 CPD points in any year, additional points can be carried over to the following year.
