
Our Online Self-Paced Asbestos Awareness Training course gives workers and supervisors the knowledge they need to identify and work safely with asbestos or asbestos containing material. The purpose of awareness training is to ensure workers understand where asbestos might be found and what steps to take to stay safe.
What type of workers need asbestos awareness training?
- The Asbestos Awareness course is aimed at personnel who may be required to remove small amounts of asbestos (under 10m2) as part of their job role.
- Workers who enter ceiling cavities (such as insulation installers; pest spray operators; air-conditioning installers; maintenance and repair workers; solar panel providers)
- Electricians; plumbers; carpenters and joiners; plasterers; painters and decorators; gas fitters; demolition workers; floor finishers
- Emergency services workers
- Building and construction workers
Certification
This is a non-accredited training course. Students who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is issued by Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy Pty Ltd RTO 41033. For workers in the Australian Capital Territory, WorkSafe ACT mandates that you must complete a specific awareness course called “11084NAT Course in Asbestos Awareness”. This is NOT that course.
The Cost is $99 per person paid once you have logged into your Moodle account and paid online.

Assessment
On successful completion of the Online self paced asbestos awareness training course, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Completion.
Recognition of Prior Learning
All participants are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL. Please refer to the Student Handbook (located in resources) or phone 1300 356 686 for the procedure of how to apply.
USI
From 1st January 2015, it is a requirement when enrolling in a Nationally Recognised training course to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI). Certifications cannot be issued until the USI number has been provided and verified.
