

Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy Pty Ltd provide Work safely in construction industry training for persons who are required to Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work. This course meets the general and SafeWork NSW accredited construction induction training required prior to undertaking construction work.The training is Nationally Recognised.
The course will cover the following areas;
- Basic roles, responsibilities and rights of duty holders are identified and explained according to jurisdictional health and safety legislative requirements
- Duty of care requirements are identified
- Construction safe work practices are identified and explained
- Identify construction hazards and risk control measures
- Basic principles of risk management are identified
- Construction hazards are identified and discussed
- Purpose and use of PPE are identified and demonstrated
- Measures for controlling hazards are identified
- Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
- Health and safety documents are identified and discussed.
- Roles of designated health and safety personnel are identified and explained
- Safety signs and symbols are identified and explained
- Procedures for reporting hazards, incidents and injuries are identified
- Identify incident and emergency response procedures
- Procedures for responding to incidents and emergencies are identified and explained
- Procedures for accessing first aid are identified
- Types and purpose of fire safety equipment are identified and discussed

Course Delivery
Training is delivered Face to Face. All training handouts supplied.
SafeWork NSW require that participants must provide the trainer with 100 points of ID prior to the commencement of Working Safely in the Construction Industry Training. Only original forms will be accepted as evidence. Failure to supply the required documents will result in exclusion from the course and rebooking fees will apply.
PPE Required
Participants are to provide their own workplace appropriate gloves. Participants are to wear comfortable clothing and closed in shoes.
Physical Requirement – a participant must be in good health and medically fit for work. If weight is over 136kg, we advise participant to bring a specialised harness with them to the training.
Assessment
Participants will complete a theory based assessment and a practical based assessment to determine their competence.
On successful completion of the work safely in the Construction Industry training course, participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment issued by Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy(RTO 41033) which is nationally recognised throughout all states in Australia, a SafeWork NSW Statement of Training. This numbered Certificate is your official White Card until SafeWork NSW send out your plastic wallet sized card to the address you provide. This certificate is accepted all over Australia. We start the process for your ‘White card’ on your behalf through a Safework Online System so students will also receive a ‘White Card’ licence (Safework NSW will issue) and a wallet card from Newcastle Rescue & Consultancy(RTO 41033) stating;

Recognition of Prior Learning
All participants are offered the opportunity to apply for RPL. Please refer to the Student Handbook (located in resources) or phone 1300 356 686 for the procedure of how to apply.
USI
From 1st January 2015, it is a requirement when enrolling in a Nationally Recognised training course to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI). Certifications cannot be issued until the USI number has been provided and verified.
